Persian Punch would have to be up there. Followed it during its whole flat career and it was incredibly consistent always trying to win from the front.

Red Alligator, third in the ‘ Foinavon’ National in 1967 and then won, with my money on it, probably a shilling, the next year

One of the favourites for the fucked up start in Grand National when the race was declared void.

That was pretty much his career over.
I think he sent Zetas Lad over to Ireland for the Irish Grand National to repair his reputation but the horse came nowhere.

Best sports book I have read (a few times now) ... some of the stories in there are incredible... loved the one about the jockey dying at the track.. getting carted off to hospital..m miraculously coming back to life and getting a cab back to the track for the last race .... films not bad either

Paisley park 1000/1 in running... even McCoy said just give up and go home... storms up the hill... one of the great performances that.... quite incredible

Anyone remember the name of the horse, ridden by Willie Carson over 5 and 6 furlongs, that began the season in shit handicaps and ended up running and winning Grp 2 and 1 races.
